Homemade tomato chutney Recipe
Homemade tomato chutney is a Chutney recipe for 4 - 8 people, takes only 10 mins; recipe has red onion, tomato and garlic clove.
Ingredients
- Garlic Clove - 4 garlic cloves, sliced
- Red Chilli - 1 red chilli, chopped (optional)
- Red Onion - 500g red onion, finely sliced
- Tomato - 1kg tomato, chopped
- Paprika - 1/2 tsp paprika
- Brown Sugar - 250g brown sugar
- Ginger - 4 cm piece ginger, peeled and chopped
- Red Wine Vinegar - 150ml red wine vinegar
- Cardamom - 5 cardamom seeds
Instructions
- Tip all the ingredients into a large heavy-based pan and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently. Simmer for 1 hr, then bring to a gentle boil so that the mixture turns dark, jammy and shiny. Place into sterilised jars and allow to cool before covering. Will keep for 6 weeks.
